The Outreach Specialist  is a dynamic, outgoing, and highly organized professional responsible for establishing and maintaining strategic relationships with local schools, colleges, and community organizations on behalf of College Planning Experts and its affiliated Financial Advisor. This role is crucial for securing public speaking opportunities (seminars, workshops, webinars) that position our experts as trusted leaders in the college planning space, directly contributing to our client acquisition goals.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Outreach and Partnership Development
  • Identify, research, and prospect high schools, community colleges, parent groups, and educational organizations to secure speaking engagements and partnership opportunities.
  • Initiate contact, present our educational value proposition, and build rapport with key decision-makers (e.g., Principals, Guidance Counselors, PTA/PTO leadership, Event Coordinators).
  • Schedule and confirm a consistent calendar of public workshops, seminars, and speaking events for the firm’s Financial Advisor and college planning specialists.
  • Manage a database of school and community contacts, tracking outreach efforts and partnership statuses.
  1. Seminar and Event Management
  • Serve as the primary liaison between College Planning Experts and the host venue (school or community organization).
  • Coordinate all logistical aspects for seminars and events, including securing dates, confirming AV/room setup, managing registration flow, and preparing materials (sign-up sheets, handouts, presentation aids).
  • Assist the Financial Advisor and speakers during events, ensuring a smooth and professional experience for all attendees.
  • Monitor event success metrics, including attendance rates and the generation of qualified leads for complimentary college planning analyses.
  1. General Support and Marketing
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure all event promotional materials (flyers, emails, social media posts) are accurate and deployed effectively.
  • Provide ongoing support to the firm’s educational and financial planning staff related to event scheduling and calendar management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience in sales, business development, education administration, or event coordination.
  • Proven experience working within or extensively engaging with K-12 school districts, community colleges, parent associations (PTO/PTA), or local educational non-profits. A pre-existing network of contacts within local schools (e.g., Principals, Guidance Counselors, PTA Presidents) is a significant advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and build instant rapport with parents, school administrators, and educational staff. Must understand the priorities and schedules of school professionals.
  • Basic proficiency with scheduling tools, email communication, and data entry (e.g., maintaining contact lists in a spreadsheet, scheduling or CRM system).
  • Must be self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable setting appointments via phone, email, and in-person meetings.
  • Mobility: Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally to schools and event sites are required.

Compensation & Benefits

Job Type: Part Time up to 30 hours per week during a busy season

Compensation package:

  • $22 per hour + Variable incentives for a Quarterly Bonus

Weekly schedule:Monday to Friday, Weekends as needed for events

Work setting:

  • Hybrid, Remote and In-Person
  • Client Events: Libraries, Restaurants, Schools, etc
